RFID: What Is It and Why Do I Need It?

RFID: What Is It and Why Do I Need It?
If you’re a frequent traveller, you’ve probably heard the term before, but maybe you’re wondering, what does RFID even mean?
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification and was originally created to track inventory. Nowadays, it has become a popular method for scammers to transmit credit card data through the air, from your pocket or purse, to nearby contactless readers.
So how do you prevent this from happening to you? Not to fear! We’ve got you covered with everything from RFID blocking passport cases and wallets to large overnight bags that will keep you safe and worry-free while travelling.
One of our favourite overnight travel bags featuring RFID blocking technology is the Lug Airbus. With five zipper pockets, a trolley sleeve, and a zipper ventilated storage compartment, it’s sure to fit all your necessities and more.
Looking for something a little more compact? The Sprinter Bag is an ideal carry-on personal item. Complete with side elastic pockets to store your water bottle, a trolley sleeve to attach to your Booster Wheelie and tons of interior zip and slip pockets to keep all your items organized, the Sprinter Bag is available in four different colours.
Lastly, if you’re always forgetting where you stuffed that darn passport of yours, the Tango Travel Wallet is your new best friend. Featuring mesh pockets for paper itineraries, five card slots, a pen holder and a wrist strap, you’ll never find yourself scrambling through your carry-on in a panic again.
Along with all of the products listed above, all of our leather bags and wallets feature RFID blocking technology. Many additional Lug products including the Sidekick, the Presto, the Puddle Jumper, and the new Splits XL Wallet also have this added feature.  Looking for more travel essentials? Shop our online collection here!
Okay, so maybe you’re still thinking, "This is all great, but is MY credit card considered an RFID card?" Look for the 4 little radio waves, similar to that of a wi-fi connection. Most credit cards that offer the tap feature are considered to be RFID. So if this sounds like something you need, stop by either of our locations today, and let us help you find the perfect RFID bag to keep you safe and protected.

RFID protection is a whole different vibe! I like that you have bigger sizes of the RFID bags. I recently bought my waterproof RFID wallet from Silent pocket, and I love everything about it but the size. So I am definitely coming for the bigger size bag. I hope the quality is s good as the silent pocket bags. Thanks.
